When you choose to share content with crew members or friends, we share only the specific information you've selected to share.

Voice Recording and Transcription

• Primary Processing: Voice transcription occurs on your device when possible
• Backup Processing: If on-device transcription fails, audio is securely transmitted to AWS Transcribe services
• Data Security: All voice data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Retention: Transcribed text is stored; original audio files may be retained for quality improvement

Location Data

• Location access is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission
• Used only for features you enable: boat launch locations, weather data, and note location tagging
• You can disable location access at any time in your device settings
• Location data is not shared with third parties except for weather services when enabled

Data Security

• All data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• Regular security audits and updates to protect your information
• Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls and monitoring

Your Privacy Rights

• Account Access: View and update your account information in app settings
• Data Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data through the app's "Delete Account" feature
• Location Control: Enable/disable location services in device settings
• Communication Preferences: Manage notification settings within the app

How to Delete Your Account

You have the right to delete your EddyNote account and all associated data at any time. To delete your account:

1. Open the EddyNote app
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Account
4. Tap Delete Account
5. Confirm your decision

Alternatively, you can request account deletion by emailing us at dylan@eddynote.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".

What Data is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your profile information (username, email address, and profile details)
• All fishing notes, catches, and recordings
• Photos, videos, and media uploads
• Location data and tagged locations
• Crew connections and shared content
• Subscription and payment information

Data Retention After Deletion

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Your personal data will be completely removed within 30 days. Some anonymized usage analytics may be retained for legal compliance and service improvement purposes, but this data cannot be linked back to you.

Children's Privacy

EddyNote is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

International Users

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using EddyNote, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of EddyNote after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active
• Fishing notes and content are retained until you delete them or close your account
• Usage analytics may be retained in aggregated, non-identifiable form
• Account deletion permanently removes all personal data within 30 days

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
